Belfast Love Public House – Toronto Review

Belfast Love Public House

Rolling with a big group of people and thinking of a spot to either start or end the night, but unsure where? Worry no more, grasshopper, as we found Belfast Love Public House.

Belfast Love is one of those spots everyone hears about and wants to check out. Their line is ridiculous, and you should show up early. Like, early, maybe even 10 pm.

The security here is friendly enough to let you skip the line if you have a good enough reason, or you know someone who knows someone. Canadians are really friendly people, so even striking up a convo could get you in. Cover charges vary depending on how much they like and can go from $5-20, and the average drink is about $10.

As soon as you walk down the stairs and turn the corner, you’re already stuck in the massive crowd that’s already been in this neon light lit up basement, drinking since sundown. Who can blame them?

Belfast is a lot bigger than it looks and includes TV’s, 1 big bar, pool tables, picnic tables, a dance floor and a message board you can write on. The atmosphere is light and feels like a pub you see on TV where everyone goes to socialize because it’s that cool. Belfast is basically the coffee shop everyone on Friends always hang out at except a bar.

Not a strict dress code here, but everyone wore trendy attire. A lot of women were dressed in trendy wear like rompers, jeans, and a tube top, or even a cute summer dress. Lots of men wore button-ups with nice pants, but others even wore hoddies – not recommended as it is extremely warm in the summer and there is never a coat check.

Belfast spins not the best music in our taste, but if you like top 40 hits throughout the years 2010-2019, then this is your time to shine and sing your hearts out on the dance floor. With this being said, the crowds are usually a mix between 20-28-year-olds, and a ratio of 60:40 in favor of men. Everyone was respectful and didn’t push each other around the crowded bar or get too hands-on.

Belfast is a chill spot to go to with the homies or start your night at. If we’re feeling the top 40 vibes, you can bet this will be the first place we come.

Early Mercy – Toronto Review

Early Mercy

Tired of the younger crowd, and seeking a more mature crowd to get your drink on with? Look no further as we’ve found a gem spot on King West, Early Mercy.

Early Mercy does not play around with their weekends and has a strict 21+ on Friday’s and 23+ on Saturday’s rule with extended 4 am hours all summer.

Early Mercy caters to the “after-work” crowd aka the lawyers, accountants, secretaries, and everyone who loves to leave work and go gossip at a bar for the night.

Open up at 10 pm, they serve food from a food truck parked right outside their – gorgeous, and large – patio and the best thing is, sometimes they rotate food trucks so you can have something completely new depending on how often you visit.

Everyone here dresses smart and trendy. Lots of women in high heels, cute dresses, makeup and lots of jewelry. Lots of the men tend to wear button-ups or a solid v-neck with trendy pants. It isn’t an extremely serious dress-code but they won’t be letting anyone who looks like trash in.

Their decor is unique with new-school paintings of greats like Gandhi, and Abe Lincon. The bar is in the middle of everything and gives plenty of room to get your grind on to some old school hip-hop beats. However, dancing is not really the main reason people come here. This is defs the place everyone comes to gossip – like previously stated – and there isn’t much of a dance scene here. Great for singles that want to mingle!

The average price for drinks is around $12-15, and bottle service is available. Bottles are always cool, but not a huge need here unless you play on staying the entire night. The door isn’t super hard but isn’t super easy either. The best thing is to get here around 12:30-1:00 amto make sure you can get in. As the night progresses it gets busier and busier. Cover charges are anywhere between $10-30 depending on time, and how busy it is.

Overall, this is a great place to get your pre-drink on and head out to the convenient places around on King or to end your night at. The Nokturnal Group might be coming back.

Lost and found

Lost & Found review

Those elite nights where you and your squad head out, looking fresh, feeling good, and ready to party. You know those nights you can’t quite remember, but will never forget? Those nights happen at Lost and Found.

Lost and Found is the type of club everyone goes, knowing it’s about to pop off at any given moment. You might see a celeb, you might buy 7 bottles, and you might even end up going home with someone you didn’t come with, you feel me?

Saturday nights are crazy nights at this place, and you’re going to want to either get a man on the inside, make a reservation or show up looking hotter than anyone in the city.

The doormen here will not let you in if you don’t look like the trendy/classy vibe they’re looking to maintain. Women, anything tight, well put together, and stylish is allowed – dresses, ripped jeans and a tube top, tight jeans and a shirt with heels or boots. Men, nothing too baggy or weird, just a nice shirt with jeans, a button-up, and you can even wear a nice collard shirt.

Cover ranges anywhere from $10-30 depending on your crew, and what time it is. Lost and Found doesn’t open till 11 pm, but quickly fills up around midnight so it is always best to get there early. The average drink here costs $10-15, and are made fantastically.

Bottle service here is a must because it enhances the fun that much more. You can be in your world in the booths but still be apart of the action enough to maintain the vibes, it’s a perfect set-up.

The ratio is 60:40 in favor of women, but can quickly turn to 50:50 depending on the mood. The atmosphere is pretty good but can get stuck up fast. Their Saturday crowd tends to be “high-rollers.”

However, their Monday night clientele is totally cool. Monday night, Lost and Found is the place to be. Everyone is a lot laxer, and the dress code isn’t as strict.

Everyone on Monday is just trying to have a good time after work or keep the weekend vibes going. There is no going wrong here as the party rages on.

The music is always hip-hop here with top 40 mixed in no matter what day you visit. Some DJ’s are better than others, but L&F does a good job keeping the crowd dancing.

Basically, Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday all bring in a different crowd, but the vibes remain the same: lit.

Lost and Found will for sure be seeing us again.

Blind Tiger – Toronto Review

Blind Tiger

Looking for a place you can dance some salsa at but also hear some new reggaeton songs? Blind Tigerhas exactly what you’re looking for.

Close enough to King Street, Blind Tiger is located on College close to some bars, clubs, and restaurants which makes it the hot spot to hit up after.

Blind Tiger has extremely nice bouncers and staff. They were knowledgable about the club scene in Toronto and weren’t too bias. Inside the club is a little different as no one really interacted with each other and stayed to their own groups. Blind Tiger is a Latin club, so if you’re looking for that, this is the place. There weren’t many people who weren’t Latino here.

The music was a mix of old and new reggaeton, and salsa music. There was Cuban music, Colombian music, Mexican music, etc giving it a nice inclusive vibe to the clientele. The male: female ratio was about 60:40 in favor of men, but everyone stuck to doing their own thing.

The age range was roughly 23-30 here, and everyone dressed up. No dressed code, but it didn’t seem that anyone wanted to slack when it came to fashion here. Everyone dressed up, lots of women in high heels, and men in button-up shirts. Bottles are available and package prices vary according to which day you’re there.

Drinks were reasonably priced, and somedays they have specials, so check out their Instagram to keep updated with specials for the weekend. Cover can range from $10-20, and ladies get in free before 11pm on most days. The bouncers weren’t extremely strict with that as they let us in with no problem.

Blind Tiger wouldn’t be a place to go to meet new people or have a fun night interacting with others. If you go here, check out what music will be played, and make sure you go with a good group of people or else it won’t be great.

All in all a decent place, but not a favorite for The Nokturnal Group as there are better places but we wouldn’t mind going for a special event.

Cure club Review

Cure Club review

Some clubs think they are the best in the city. Of course, not all can be. We sought out Cure to see if it was exactly that, the cure to the nightlife.

Cure is one of those places you go and you’re just kinda like, “okkkkkkkkk,” as your eyes scan over the scene looking for something to catch your eye but nothing really does. Not to knock the club, it’s nice enough on the inside but it just doesn’t stand out from any other one.

The staff are sarcastic, which in some cases can be funny – or irritating. It costs $20 to get in, and is open Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They have events that can be seen on their website or their Instagram to keep you updated. They also have extended club hours on Saturday so you can keep on partying till 4am.
The music is a mix of hip-hop and top 40 with occasional throwbacks in the mix, and the DJ’s are usually pretty good. People dance here and have a good time, which keeps the atmosphere light yet exciting.
The clothing style here is a range from t-shirts, to button-ups, leather jackets or athletic sweaters. Ladies wore more trendy outfits that included jean jackets, shorts, dresses, and the occasional pair of camo pants.

Drinks are strong and about the same price as other places on King West($10-25 depending on what you get). Bottle service could enhance this experience if you’re out with a big group of friends looking to have a lot of drinks, it would make sense to hop in a booth.

A lot of the people were open and happy to be there, but some weren’t – to each their own. This is a good spot to hit if you’re in with the younger crowd, 19-25 was the majority of the mix.

It’s a fair club, but nothing too exciting or extraordinary. The Nokturnal Group will probably pass by and say hi on our way to a different club in Toronto. There are much better ones to experience!

EFS Social Club Review

EFS Social Club Review

Canada’s New York knows how to party like it’s big brother, and to prove it, Toronto’s own EFS shows the city wt* is up.

EFS is located on King West where all the action is happening, making it easily accessible by public transit, uber, cab, or however else you would like to get there.

EFS is the kind of club that The Weeknd might show up to for a good time, and is a favorite of the  Raptors who have been seen there on multiple occassions. Our best advice for this place is to come in your best outfit, get a guest list, or know someone because it’s a bitch to get into this door. You basically have to be Drake, an employee or a very, very attractive person with a lot of extra pocket change.

By keeping the door strict, the ratio is usually in favor of women,  and their “ladies free before 11:30pm” rule ensures all the babes show up prepared to snatch up a new boyfriend.

With that being said, it’s the city’s “hype” club so naturally people like to mingle here, but it isn’t the most open crowd. A lot of partiers go to EFS mainly to get videos for their social media. You will see a lot of people on their phones at this club but that’s alright, you

don’t have to be one of them. Also, the lighting isn’t that great, so get your flashes ready to snag an outfit photo outside the club before entering.

The dance floor is in the center with booths surrounding it, making it a little tougher for the ladies to walk through with the bottles. If you’re on the dance floor you are constantly interrupted and have to shuffle.

EFS is one of the few clubs that has extended hours on the weekends, making it lit until 4am. To have the best time here, aim to come for about 1:30am just before all the other clubs shut down, and it becomes the true time for this club to shine.

The venue is small, making it more intimate, and sometimes hard to get through the crowd. Coming here with a big group may be tedious, but with couple of single friends would be perfect. Single because wellllll, everyone who comes here is attractive.

Ladies, that sexy outfit you’ve been wearing in the house and wanting to showcase, this is the perfect place for you. Fellas, this is the spot you could find your new baby mama, so dress like it – we want to see you at your best.

In conclusion, EFS is a great late night club to end the night, get some pictures, listen to the best hip-hop music, and feel the energy of Toronto in.

They will be seeing the Nokturnal Group again.

MUSIC

It’s a 21+ nightclub with R&B, hip-hop and top 40 tracks spinning all night. The other days are just as good, spinning hip-hop mixes and bringing an electric crowd in each time.

DRINK PRICES

Bottles at this place are a must, in the opinion of Mr.Nokturnal. It’ll enhance this experience, and price ranges from $500-$1,000 minimum but ensures 3 complimentary admissions per bottle.

BEST NIGHTS

Open Wednesday-Saturday, each day has its own rules and different crowds. The best night to hit up EFS is Saturday night if you’re looking for a more mature crowd.

BOTTLE SERVICE

Drinks here are a high price, but that’s just Toronto. 2 shots of Tequila here costs about $30 on average.

Lavelle – Toronto Review

Lavelle

Lavelle

Summer is about to go OFF in Toronto, and you’re asking “where can I go to catch the summer 19’ vibes?” The Nokturnal Group only comes with answers, and here is one: Lavelle.

Lavelle is 16 floors located on top of a beautiful condo building. It is the spot of the spots, this place will blow your mind with its mesmerizing decor, polite staff, all around views of downtown and the gorgeous crowd.

When you step into Lavelle, you understand why everyone gravitates towards it. It’s in a subtle location yet nothing about the prices say subtle. This lounge is the place people drop $20,000 and don’t even flinch. If you’re ready for that type of party, this is it, and if you’re not that’s fine. You can still enjoy yourself with a couple hundred dollars.
Lavelle has 3 pools open to the public for a fee that includes towel service, or you can purchase a membership that includes a guest, towel service and daily bed rentals. You can reserve a table at Lavelle, here: http://chezlavelle.com/reservations/. The layout for the times looks complicated, but to make a reservation is very simple! Table service here is available at the Gold Bar Lounge or Le Jardin, but only for the summer – so get in now while you can to enhance this experience!

This is the type of place that if you go with a group of friends you really enjoy, you’re going to have a great time. It isn’t the type of place to go alone and chill, even though I’m sure it wouldn’t be an awful experience. It would be an ideal place to lounge around in the day on the weekday or weekend, and a good pre-drink spot if you want chill vibes before a club night. It is located in King West which makes it the ideal place to go because it’s in proximity to everything else you could want.

Dressing up nice is the minimum at this place. Even though it doesn’t state that there is a dress code, you won’t be able to get in with simple clothing or athletic wear. Women dressed in dresses, heels, and summer wear while men dressed in business clothes or in an expensive t-shirt and jeans combo. The ratio was fair, probably about 50:50 and people were relaxed and mature. No one was too rowdy, but it was clear that security would handle any situation well.

Lavelle is the spot. Period. It will be seeing the Nokturnal Group basking in the sun and glory of the vibes here.

Everleigh Club Review

Everleigh Club Review

Is the club going up on a Tuesday? Bet. Eveleigh in Toronto is the only spot that knows how to get it poppin on a Tuesday night.

For starters, the best thing about this club is that appearance isn’t an extremely big deal and they let all respectable people in that night – no matter the outfit. There were people from suits, to dresses, crop tops and jeans, beanies, button downs, and dress pants, to guys with big chains. It brought such an open and free atmosphere.

If you want to buy bottles, Tuesday is a good day if it’s a special occasion, or else waiting for the weekend would be the best choice. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the bartenders were friendly.

Music was a mix of old and new top charted hip-hop records and kept the vibe of the club chill. Lots of people filled in after midnight, but you still had room to dance. Everleigh closes part of the club off on a Tuesday but opens if the club starts to fill up.

It’s located in a ridiculously convenient area of King West and is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Dressing up on the weekends in recommended, and getting guest list is always a very very good idea.

The bathrooms here are probably the trippiest in the world. I don’t think the layout is quite fair to do to a person who has been drinking a lot, but they’re clean and very beautiful.

With everything being said, Everleigh is your best option on a Tuesday night and gets a 5-star rating from the Nokturnal Group.
