HQ2- Atlantic City Review

HQ2

Ready to be dazzled? Then head to Hq2.

Hq2 is Vegas style club, it has the most dazzling aesthetic view in Atlantic City with their best nights being Friday and Saturday. You can expect to be waiting in line from 10-30 minutes depending on who is hosting either night.

The ratio from men: women was about equal, and the dress code here is closer to the strict side. If the club is going to dazzle, then the people need to be able to do the same thing(so I assume is their reason..). Women wore heels, dresses, cute clutches and men wore button-ups, blazers or whatever made them look the most fly.

Saturday’s also double as a day pool party which gives an ultimate vegas vibe. Sunday they also have a day pool party which is good depending on the dj.

The dance floor is a decent size here enough room to dance and get down. The men here were a little more aggressive with trying to get with the ladies but still respectful. The age range is roughly 21-30 with the average drink price $12. The bartenders were nothing special, but still nice enough.

The vibe here is pretty open, and people struck up conversations. The setting is really intimate with the dark lighting and ambient light, but it lacked the sex appeal vibe didn’t see many hook ups happening. Hq2 is popular for bridesmaids and bachelorette parties. We saw lots of ladies getting down! The music here was typically lots of EDM, and the second floor was for VIP which was dope since you could look down at the party goers. Also had more sections on the bottom floor surrounding the dance floor.

This club and Daer are the top 2 in Atlantic City, but it all comes down to one factor: who is headlining. Like we said, check that! It’s very important.

Verdict: Mr.Nokturnal and the Nokturnal group will be seen here again.

Daer – Atlantic City Review

Daer

Ever go to a place with high hopes and want it to be exactly what you’ve heard and then it ACTUALLY is? That’s Daer, Atlantic City.

Daer did not disappoint — either my favorite or second favorite club in Atlantic City. Located in the Hard Rock Casino, Daer is small, pretty, and gives you an intimate type vibe. Friday and Sunday guest list is available and you can enter for free until 11pm. Saturday’s are different and prices vary this day depending on who is headlining/hosting.

Bottle service here is affordable and definitely recommended. You could either be elevated by the DJ booth, secluded in the back corner or right in the action directly in front of the dance floor. The dance floor is small but effective.

The age range here is roughly 21-35 and the female: male ratio depends on the night. Friday’s the ratio was off 65:35. The men didn’t really seem to be hounding the girls because this place is more upscale. Saturday’s is the best day to go which has more jumping music — a mix of top 40, electronic and old hip-hop songs. Dress to impress this day! Women dressed sleek in dresses and high heels. Men wore ripped jeans, Chelsea boots, collard shirts with no problems at the door for the dress code. Sunday’s here is their industry night and probably my favorite night ratio was good 55:45 in favor of ladies. Everyone was chill this night with their own cool, respectful vibe. It isn’t typically as packed as the other days, but since it’s an industry night you don’t get those same lames who women run from, you get the seasoned party veterans the cool entertainment crowd. It gave off a NYC feel to it and im here for that.

Drinks here are $10-15 on average with some great staff members. The bouncers here just want to see you have fun, and they’re extremely helpful. For the most part, everyone who came here was beautiful… It’s that place where women and men can go to have fun and someone could get lucky — it has that sex appeal vibe. No one was sloppy here which is a big biggggg deal considering that is the “thing” around Atlantic City and The Shore.

If you had no hope for AC, check this place out before you make your final decision and if you’re there for a weekend, make sure it’s on your list! They will be seeing us again on a Sunday

Mountain Bar – Atlantic City Review

Mountain Bar

Looking for a cool place to kick it in Atlantic City for free and with food? Don’t even worry, we got you.

Mountain bar is the best spot for exactly that. Located in Bally’s Casino, it has a lot to offer its guests. There are 2 different bars and has live bands that play. Mountain bars best nights are Friday and Saturday, Saturday’s being the best of the 2. Think Dave and Busters with fewer games, an open spot to dance and chill.

The best thing about this place is that you can gamble, play beer pong, and flip cup. Maybe all at once if you can handle it. After 2 nights I finished with a record of 33-0(something light) in beer pong, But losing big in roulette(tragic). It’s very laid-back and you can wear whatever you want since there are no doormen. Technically you can get in if you’re under 21 since the only time they ID is at the bar, so you can just chill.

The age here ranges from roughly 21-45, and during the winter months it is heavily influenced by college students from Stockton since it’s nearby. The drinks here are affordable, $8-$12 and free to enter. FREE. Everyone loves free. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves which made the atmosphere that much better to indulge in.

The only downside is the live bands if you’re not into that type of thing, but with enough friends and games to play it is easy to drown it out. This spot is not upscale at all, people are comfortable, friendly, and the environment is easy going + there isn’t a line to get in!

If there are no big hosts in AC when you’re there, this is probably the best bet for you. Solid place you can count on for a solid night.

Harrahs’ The Pool – Atlantic City Review

The Pool

Harrahs, AC

Atlantic City… The place that Jake Peralta went to rescue Captain Holt. It looks extra dope on TV, but we went to see if it could live up to its portrayals.

Harrah’s has a pool party called “pool after dark,” so naturally, Mr.Nokturnal went to check it out. This party goes from 10pm-4am. Best nights being Wednesdays, Saturday’s, and fridays.

As far as dress code goes their fairly strict dress code, do not wear jean shorts saw good looking girls turned away for it. Made you coat check certain jackets in the casino lobby was free at least and do not bring to big of a bag ladies.. For whatever reason that’s a thing some ladies got denied because of it.

During the night party, you are allowed to enter the pool, but you need to purchase a locker to put your belongings in. But since they don’t allow big purses how are you suppose to change, I guess wear clothes underneath??idk…doesnt make any sense to me, but aight. not to many places to sit unless you purchase a table, the price ranges from $500-2500 depending on the package you want. So wear comfortable/stylish heels don’t wanna fall or slip into the pool by mistake.

If you are staying at the hotel here, you are able to get free admission on Wednesday’s and Friday’s before 11. You will need to go to the lobby clerk and prove you are a guest. Saturday’s they have reduced admissions for the hotel guests they take like $10 dollars off. If you are not a hotel guest, the cover charge is anywhere from $20-$60 depending on who is headlining. Speaking of headlining — this place always has a different mix, so remember to check first! Your experience more than likely depends on that factor.

The couple of times I went here, the DJ was kept talking through the music to try and get things hype but like…… it was unnecessary considering they don’t have mic skills(otherwise they would be a dj/host not a dj). Music was edm mixed hip hop clubs Top 40 and hip-hop. If the headliner is a hip-hop artist then expect that kind of music to be played, so again, just keep an eye out for who is there. Coulda sworn I saw KEVIN FEDERLINE billed as a headliner(like who) but I must have been mistaken unless they allow anyone to headline. If that’s the case we should all contact the booking person since we are all as irrelevant as him. So that night will be a hard miss for me.

The pool in the center made this place extremely humid, sticky, and hot. You’re going to be craving a shower after. With that being said, the set-up is really different and very pretty. The spacing is interesting because it’s around a pool, with most people dancing in front of the DJ booth, while table service is available at the cabanas — Mr.Nokturnal doesn’t suggests bottle service, it didn’t add much to a better vibe.

The staff here weren’t to friendly some cooler than others but you are required to go through a metal detector at the door but it was quick and seamless. Always better to be safe than sorry, right? Some of the people here were a bit aggressive, especially when they’re bumped into(it’s a club… like relax) so just be mindful of that.

This is probably the most diverse club in Atlantic City and seemed to be a popular place for bachelorette/bachelor parties which always bring a lighter, more fun atmosphere to any club. This is just us talking shit but if Harrahs cut that EDM music out and replaced it with pure hip-hop since there isn’t really a pure hip-hop spot in AC, they could have a little something a carve out a niche. You can have the best and the worst time at this place, so please remember to check the lineup!

The day party here, however, was absolute trash. A decent amount of people came, and there was a live DJ but no one seemed to be enjoying themselves unless they were playing volleyball. This would be a nice place to take a date during the sun hours if you got some pool beds, and wanted to chat or pass the time.

Overall, if The Nocturnal Group is out in AC, and someone good is headlining, we may pop by this place at night, But will never catch me dead at the day party again

Djais – Jersey Shore Review

Djais

When you think Djais, just think a giant adult frat party, and you’ll understand what you’re about to walk into. If you loved frat parties and house parties in college, you’re going to love this place – if not, stay away.

The best days to check out Djais are Thursday-Sunday, it has an upbeat crowd with equally upbeat music. If you’re not from the Jersey Shore and wanted to party like Pauly D and Vinny, this would be the place to do it at.

There are no bottle packages available and inside, the male: female ratio is not fair, and most people come in groups. Ladies, this is what Mr.Nokturnal likes to call a bro environment. A bro environment is when there are a lot of men that hit on every female around. It’s also a big groupie kind of space.

This bar only accepts cash but has two ATM’s. One outside, and one inside. You can start a tab if you’re in a group over the amount of 5 people. Drinks are not reasonably priced for the aesthetic and service you’re getting. After all, in this place, you’re likely to see ladies in flip flops, and jumpers. It’s a very laid back place for locals to go, we learned this by seeing how rude the bartenders were to non-locals.

Djais has it’s “nine-week” summer window to make money, and that’s exactly what they do. There is a never a dull night there with security and cops stationed outside to make sure you’re not leaving wasted. They will also pull you aside if you’re acting out of character or being rude to any staff member.

It can be challenging or damn near impossible moving through the crowd because of how filled the space gets, but you can still dance.

The bathrooms here are really, really gross and so is the floors in the club, but everyone seemed to be having a great time around me if you are a true frat star or frat rat you will thrive in this environment.

If the Nokturnal Group came to the shore, we’d make an appearance but we would never make the trip up to be here.

So, should you go? Up to you, this is only our review.

Verdict: Best day party vibes at the shore

MUSIC

Monday-Wednesday in the summer consists of bands during happy hour and local DJ’s at night. Thursday-Sunday is typically the DJ’s that bring the fist-pumping crowd with their EDM music.

Headliner – Jersey Shore Review

Headliner

We headed to The Headliner to see if the hype was right Now, you can be the judge.

The Headliner is located right off the Belmar bridge entering Neptune.

Now, this bar is different from any other bar on the Jersey Shore. It has two ways to get in, leading to three different bars(that’s dope). If you go through the “pub doors,” you’re entering a room that’s dark and dingy – not appealing.

You’ll see a crowd that varies in age, from 21-45 with a ratio of about 65:35 in favor of men. Outside there’s a tiki bar and it has a pool(think lesser Miami vibe) with an area for volleyball and a large bar. This place either has a live band or a DJ. You can go to a third bar named “main bar” which has a more club vibe and aesthetic.

Best days to check this spot – or spots, really – are Friday nights which could either have a DJ with house music or a live band during their famous happy hour. Or, Saturday afternoons are great for parties in the summer. This spot does offer tables with bottle service upon request before you arrive. Bottle service may be really cool in the day time with the cabanas and all but at night when the music is so loud(Mr.Nokturnal recommends ear plugs) you can’t chat so there is literally no point in having a section.

Men can face cover charges between $20-50 and ladies more times than not are free – yay. There are occasional times where they have to pay $10 dollars to get in but that’s fine, Saturday nights are worth it.

There was a lot of designer clothing worn because it’s a typical guido spot. Women dressed in semi-casual but dressy wear, and men dressed in nice clothes and we’re musclar. Most of the people here were attractive, which is always a bonus.

So, depending on what night, what you want, and what events/music and the day/night you’re going to have options. It would be a solid night to go to for an event, or maybe even a recovery on a Sunday when you partied too hard all weekend and just want to lay in the sun with people in little to no clothing.

All in all, a solid place with a lot of different vibes, and more upscale than most places on The Shore.

Verdict: I like it over most spots at the shore on Saturday nights but may only catch me here once or twice a summer max
