Jin Bo Law Skybar – London Review

Jin Bo Law

Wanting some more breathtaking views of London’s most iconic skyline including all the buildings? Head to their newest rooftop Jin Bo Law Skybar for just that.

JBL’s rooftop terrace includes views of Tower Bridge, the Shard, the Walkie Talkie, the Gherkin and more. The interior of this rooftop is pretty of the chain, designed with a lot of bronze, a marble floor and a long bar – which is also in marble – it screams posh af.

With it’s great location, and very posh, it attracts a crowd that’s more like, “Hey we live in London and work for the top banks on this continent so you’re nothing compared to us,” but if you just ignore that and go with your friends, it’s a great experience.

Drinks are expensive, £15-18, and the service is decent considering how busy it is any given day of the summer months. They host events throughout the summer which can be found on their website, or social media platforms.

Jin Bo Law on the weekends is epic, and has a less uptight crowd but still mature and rich. Everyone wears their best outfits, so aim to impress or you won’t be invited to stay long. Nice dresses with the red bottoms and suits that make you look like an actor are the best options. The DJ’s spin a mix of top 40, which is typical rooftop music, and people can dance but no one does.

Arriving early on a weekend is a good idea here, as there is usually a line for the lift(elevator) and VIP’s, locals, and people who know people get on it first. There isn’t any cover, and the staff is friendly enough!

All of this being said, it’s a great time to sightsee while getting drunk. You can’t complain about that!

The Nokturnal Group will be back to get a lot of Instagram pics.

Queen of Hoxton – London Review

Queen of Hoxton

Tired of spending a million dollars around London? Head to the Shoreditch district and check out Queen of Hoxton to have fun, spend less, and hang around university kids that don’t care what you wear.

Queen of Hoxton is a nice break away from the posh, uptight atmosphere more clubs in London have. QH is a bar and club with regular live music and DJ acts from cutting edge labels, along with the events they host, and these events can be found on their website or social media pages.

QH comes with hipster Shoreditch kids that lounge on the big sofas and groups of friends enjoying the buzzy atmosphere with fun to be had in the games room with pinball and table football.

In the summertime, QH opens their rooftops for clientele to be able to soak up the sun, and the alcohol all at once. The drinks are a great price, roughly £5-10 your wallet will be excited about the reduction of the bill.

This is more of a chill night out with a group of friends you know like to party and have fun. The music is a mix of top 40, hip-hop and house mixes, keeping the energy high at all times.

Dress code is casual/trendy. Just got a new outfit from fashion nova? sure, you can wear that here. Want to just go out in some jeans and a cute tube top with sneakers? that is also allowed here. Men, you’re good to wear anything except flip-flops or sportswear.

Bottle service can be purchased but each package is different, and there is a cover charge which depends on the amount of the people at the club and the time you arrive. It’s roughly £10-20. Showing up early here is a good idea, but the door isn’t extremely hard so you’re looking at maybe a 20-40 minute wait if you don’t know anyone.

Overall a fun night. If we feel like getting loose with future doctors and lawyers and current frat boys, this is an option.

Bussey Rooftop Bar – London Review

Bussey Rooftop Bar

A tropical oasis awaits thirsty cocktail lovers like yourself, and it is located on top of the Bussey Building called the Bussey Rooftop Bar.

The Bussey is a summer oasis for anyone who loves nature decor, good views, and cheap glasses of wine(£5.50 a glass).

The crowd seen at Bussey is a more or less upscale vibe, but still relaxed enough that you can talk to strangers and not be treated like a weirdo. The music spun here is typical rooftop beats like top 40 and some hip-hop.

There is no cover charge or wait. You’re brought up and let loose to enjoy what they have to offer. Dress code is smart-casual so anything you could walk into the office wearing, but nothing too fancy. You want to look cute enough to get free drinks, not sexy enough to break necks. This means a cute dress pant with shirt combo or a trendy outfit you’ve been dying to wear. Men here look sharp, from button-ups and jeans to black v-necks and some accessories.

The Bussey Building also has a club that is open year-round, so you can go there and enjoy without worrying about the cold. It’s called The CLF Art Cafe and is a versatile, multi-level warehouse space that is home to an art crowd.

The music in the underground club is all over the place, and seriously brings in a lot of different people. From different strands of electronic music—house, electro, drum & bass, techno, bass music as well as for funk, soul, disco, Latin, jazz, hip hop and more. It’s quite the place for everyone.

The Bussey Building is full of surprises and is a good time for the weekend no matter the age.

H10 Waterloo – London Review

H10 London Waterloo

An average night with nothing crazy except nice views a good company can be had at H10 Waterloo Skybar.

On top of a hotel, as most rooftops are, Waterloo has nothing too special about it, except for its views and calming blue decor.

There isn’t a cover charge or a lineup, and getting in isn’t a challenge unless it’s a packed weekend. If that happens, you only have to wait to get into the elevator which isn’t bad at all.

Overall, a chill spot of pre-drinks, but there are better places in the city.

Madison – London Review

Madison

Ready to hit up London’s second most-Instagrammed spot? It’s a gorgeous rooftop filled with gorgeous people, and honestly, how can you say no?

The Madison is home to great views of the capital and is across the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral getting you up close and personal with the British vibes, while still keeping the decor modern and pretty.

They have both a restaurant and a rooftop bar. The restaurant serves a range of steakhouse inspired dishes, but a lighter menu for the rooftop and terrace along with a Manhattan inspired cocktail menu. Who can say no to NY vibes in London? No one, but yes, cocktails are expensive here, roughly £13-17.

The Madison roof terrace is somewhat of a sun trap, so it is perfect for relaxing cocktails and enjoying a bit extra vitamin D. But because we all know London is known for rain, umbrellas and heaters make it available on all other days as well – yay.

The atmosphere at this venue is usually very nice and has a mix of looking quite posh but managing to still have a relaxed and friendly feel. Late nights and weekends a live DJ is creating an ideal place for a celebration, whether it’s a birthday, break up or just a Friday.

The Madison is open 7 days a week, but the closing times extend on the weekend till 1 am which makes it a very exciting pre-game place or all night.

Dress code isn’t strict but if you don’t look nice, Londoners tend to be more judges about you. Dresses, skirts, high heels, dress pants with a tube top are all great options for women. Button-ups, collared shirts, dress pants, great kicks, and t-shirts with jeans are all good options for men as well.

Overall, this is a great place is to have fun, take a date, get a date, and see the city all in one. We dig it for a once in a while thing.

Savage Garden – London Review

Savage Garden

Thinking of a venue to go out while the sun is up then when it goes down the venue gets even more hype? Look no further as we have found Savage Garden so you wouldn’t have to.

Savage Garden is open throughout most of the day and night and is a great rooftop for different occasions. You can swing by for some relaxing and sunny afternoon cocktails and enjoy the fantastic views of London, or bring a more festive mode for a nighttime visit when the views are just as great and the vibe and music a bit higher.

It’s called Savage Garden because it brings just that out in the people. They have a flirtatious atmosphere that says “undress me, but not too fast, we want to drink a little longer.” People are very “untamed” here and the bar encourages such behavior. With that being said, people are still very mature and respectful of each other but think of it as the place to go when you’re single.

Cocktails are expensive here, £15-18, with gratuity already added onto the bill, so it won’t be a cheap night or day out. The views are incredible, and the place is decorated beautifully and the food is quite tasty as well.

Everyone dresses nicely in their smart wear. Women wore nice cocktail dresses or well-matched skirts and shirt with high heels or cute boots. Men wore button-ups, collard shirts, or a very nice t-shirt and jeans combo that didn’t look as casual as you’d think.

There is no line or cover charge, but you may have to wait to sit at a table if that’s what you wish to do. The ratio stays steady throughout the night as everyone loves rooftops! It’s better to always have a good guy:girl ratio in your group as you head out for the night to make things easier, but that’s just a little advice we picked up throughout the years of reviews.

We liked it, and we’re sure Mr.Nokturnal was hit on more than usual.

Aqua Spirit – London Review

Aqua Spirit

Home to an interesting concept sure to leave you wondering why you haven’t been before being, Agua Spirit in London.

Aqua Spirit is home to terraces that are made for a drink in the sun and some light snacks. It has twin terraces (Aqua Kyoto and Aqua Nueva) that serve classic cocktails along with a selection of signature Japanese and Spanish ones, taking inspiration from the flavors of the restaurants – which are located inside.

Inside they serve great food and offer reservations. However, the outside terrace is a first come first serve basis and only runs in full swing during summer and spring. In the off-seasons guests are welcome to take their drinks outside, but be advised London is cold so bring a few extra layers if that’s going to be you.

The decor inside is black and gold, and give you a somewhat Manhattan feel. With the DJ’s spinning top 40 all night to keep the energy up, you almost feel like you’re being transported to Manhattan while drinking a Spanish/Japanese cocktail. It is quite the scene.

Everyone here dresses smart causal meaning if you think you could wear it on Suits, you can wear it here. They allow “smart shorts” which we’re not sure what that means, but think it means dress shorts… on the days it’s extremely warm. Sportswear is not permitted.

You won’t be asked to wait in a line here, or be charged a cover, but you will be screened at the front to make sure you fit the vibe they’re going for here. Speaking of the vibe, they go for a sophisticated atmosphere geared toward a mature crowd, 28-40ish, that likes to go have a drink after a long week at work or hang out with friends to catch up.

During the terrace season, the outside is packed with great vibes, great drinks, and great vibes. Everyone here seems like they just want to do their own thing but are open to meeting new people if conversation strikes.

Mr.Nokturnal approves.

This venue has one of the nicest views of London, is known for the greatest cocktails, and a light and friendly atmosphere. With live music every Wednesday and DJ’s Thurs-Sat, you can’t go wrong here.

The average price for drinks is quite expensive, around £10-12 but well worth – strong and tasty. The dress code is more so “smart-causal” which includes a nice dress with heels for women and button-up shirts and suits for men. Anything along those lines will pass.

There isn’t a line to get in, however, people can reserve tables which means if you’re late to the party you may have to stand at the bar or on the terrace. The terrace closes at 10 pm due to a license that we’re not experts in but we know that while it’s open, it makes you feel some type of way.

The atmosphere here is friendly and relaxed. It feels like you’re sort of at home on the couch(really nice ones) hanging out with friends in your penthouse with incredible views and good music. The decor is absolutely beautiful, bright, and open. It looks like your favourite page in an ikea catalogue.

The only downside about this place is all the gratuity is already included in the bill, so servers aren’t trying extremely hard to keep you update to date with drinks.

This is definitely a nice date spot or a chill evening with great vibes. They’ll be seeing The Nokturnal Group again.

Shaka Zulu – London Review

Shaka Zulu

Is anyone a fan of restaurants that double as a club cause we found one in London, Shaka Zulu.

This African style restaurant has some of the tastiest food around and doubles as a night club on the weekends.

Shaka Zulu is one of those boujie places you go to eat, then dance, get bottles and have a good time if you have the patience for the obnoxious staff. You may feel disrespected at this place, but if you’re patient then you’ll be okay.

XOYO – London Review

XOYO

Feeling an easy night but still wanting to turn up and get sloppy? We scouted around London and stumbled upon Xoyo in the Shoreditch district to deliver just that to you.

Xoyo has a giant, 2-floor beautiful venue that holds great performances by different artists every Friday and Saturday – usually house, EDM and trance music vibes. They keep the list updated on their website under the “what’s on” section, so keep up to date with it – or don’t, it’s your life.

The atmosphere here is more for university kids looking to go out and not have to spend a lot of money to have a great night with their mates. The drinks are cheap, the cover is a low price, and the door is easy to get through – depending on the event.

Dresscode is more relaxed here and you won’t need to look like you’re coming straight out of a James Bond movie. However, they still want you to be trendy and tidy. Ladies, anything in a style that makes you look like an Instagram model, and gents the same for you. No flip-flops, though. Please, stop wearing flip-flops to clubs…

Bottle service is available here for you and the booths are some of the best we’ve seen. Perfect for any celebration and if you’re a group of 10+ they have area bookings where you can make a home base for your crew all night + free/priority/guestlist entry.

They’re strict 20+ but I’m sure with enough persuasion anything could be arranged. Make sure you have your ID’s as all across London, they’re pretty strict about scanning.

Is it a fun club that has a lot of friendlier people? Yes. Is it one of the best in London? Nah. We’re not telling you to go or not to go, we simply went to be able to review it and help you decide.

Who knows, maybe Mr.Noktrunal will pop in on his next Europe tour.
