Up & Down Review
Ready for an experience that you see on TV, or everyone’s insta stories and you’re like, “damn, that looks like a movie”? PERF because we have the spot that is going to blow your mind: Up & Down, New York City.
Where do celebs go to party, where can I go if I have a lot of money and want a guaranteed dope night? You go to the Butter Group’s, Up & Down(side note: the butter group is the 1OAK brand).
Up & Down is a hip-hop, beautiful decorated 2-floor club that thrives. The door here is not afraid to see you put your money where your mouth is so you can expect $40+ cover charges if you’re a man, but entry is free for women – this is a place you’re going to want to know a promoter at. With or without a headliner at the club, it gets busy and it is better to show up earlier than later to make sure you can get into this place, you don’t want to miss it.
The vibes here are absolutely electric. You will see famous Instagrammers, celebrities and fashion icons displaying their iconic outfits. This is a place where you want to dress up, look sharp and not slack. Celebrities even have their album release parties here, and sometimes – sometimes – the bouncers will honor the tickets and let you in.
Depending on your budget and where your wallet is at, bottle service is a great option to get away from the scene, and next to the models that will most likely be here. Mr.Nokturnal has partied beside Teyana Taylor and shot his shot with a Victoria Secret model. With all of this being said, the drinks are on the pricey side with an average of $20 for a mixed drink.
On the weekends, Up & Down opens the bottom floor which has a different atmosphere altogether. When you want to get away from the club up top, you can go downstairs and find yourself in a much more chill, conversational room. The age demographic here is 30 and under ranging from wall street brokers, to Busta Rhymes buying a whole corner of the club for himself and his crew.
The behavior here is well handled – when you’re spending all that money, it means good behavior to remain inside the club, no one wants to be kicked out. If you’re looking for an iconic spot, and iconic photos to flex, they have 2 beautiful staircases as well as a polaroid wall for your aesthetic pleasure. The ratio here is 60:40 in favor of women, bringing in a good crowd that is making real moves in real life.
Did I mention Up & Down has hosted the exclusive Met Gala after party in the previous years? Yeah, this place will be seeing the Nockturnal Group as often as celebs show up – every week.
The drinks are on the pricey side with an average of $20 for a mixed drink.
Pricey but worth it.
The one thing you need to know about going out in Montreal is everyone is extremely blunt. If you don’t reach their standards they’ll tell you you’re not good enough. Blunt and to the point is how we would describe the people of Montreal, and it’s just the way they are.
When you go out, everyone is dressed up at any point in the day. Fashion is a very big thing there and is taken seriously. At Terrasses, they have a strict dress code for the upstairs terrace, and the downstairs club. You can find these on their website as they are different.
Women at the club wear their nicest going out attire, including tight designer dresses with high heels and a full face of makeup. Men are seen in suits, and nothing less than their best James Bond outfit.
Bottle service is available here and recommended. The club is usually packed every weekend and is still busy during the week as this is one of the most tourist places you can go for a night out. Food and drinks are more expensive here, roughly $13-18 for a cocktail, $10 for a beer, and $8 for a glass of wine. If you plan on eating and drinking, the bill will most likely be high.
The vibe here is chill and doesn’t get too out of hand. The staff, however, are not friendly at all and seem to be very disorganized. With it being such a popular place, we’re sure customer service isn’t pushed as hard as a smaller club needing more exposure.
Music is always good with hip-hop playing in the club, and top 40 playings upstairs on the terrace, you can’t go wrong with going to check it out with a group of friends for a nice night.
The other thing about this location is it is very out of the way of other clubs and possibilities. If you want to go somewhere else, you will need to walk back to the mainland and order an Uber. Nothing is in walking distance, so if you’re going here for the night, it’s a commitment.
There are better places for Mr.Nokturnal to go to, but he’s happy he experienced this once – and never again.

Everleigh Club Review
As we all are big fans of love – or lust – we want to go somewhere we can feel that. Toronto’s juliet promotes romance, and honestly, you can feel the love.
juilet’s theme is based on Romeo and Juliet, and they want you to know. All about the romance and up’s and down’s that come with it, juliet is open Thursday-Sunday with different themes each weekend.
10pm - 3am

At juliet, they like to vary the music according to the day. For example, Thursday is Hip-Hop, Raggae, Trap, and R&B(bias, that’s what we like), then Sundays it’s Hip-Hop and mashups with ladies from before midnight.
This venue is the spot you want to go to on a Thursday and because they’re packed on Thursday, naturally they’re busy during a weekend night. To get a full vibe of juliet, you might as well just take a long weekend of partying and going Thursday-Sunday to grasp what they’re about. But if thats not you, then a weekend/Thursday night will do.
Sometimes they have exotic dancers in cages, burlesque dancers on stage, and is very, very geared towards a femae audience. Their entire instagram is full of pictures of pretty women, and thats exactly what they attract.
Lots of weekends are extended hours, but double check as the days vary. This is a spot you want to show up to around 11-11:30pm, which is the time things tend to get spicy. The door is a little hard to work so be ready to buy a table to get in, or know somebody prior. The cover is around $20-40, and women are free before certian hours but always make sure to double check their Instrgram.
juliet is mostly a hip-hop spot that spins mixes, latin music, and top 40. Somedays you can walk into the trap house, and other you feel like you walked into a prom day.
Bottles are always a great choice as they enhance each experience, and gives you privacy. Drinks here are expensive, and you’re looking at $20-30 for a couple drinks. If you’re going out with the squad, it’s a great idea to pool money together and just get a table and you’ll probably save money, and be able to flex just a little harder.
Wearing your cutest little dress with those brand new high heels is a great idea for this club, as is wearing trendy outfits such as black n-necks, jeans, and nice shirts – guys, that piece of advice is for you.
Will we be back? Yes, we enjoyed it. Let us know how you feel after you try it out.
Music was a mix of old and new top charted hip-hop records and kept the vibe of the club chill.
Drinks are reasonably priced.
If you want to buy bottles, Tuesday is a good day if it’s a special occasion, or else waiting for the weekend would be the best choice.
Becoming a big fan of restaurants that double as night clubs? Awesome, we found another hidden gem, Flyjin.
Flyjin is an Asian-inspired 4-star restaurant that has two services. One service is at 7 pm and a second at 9:30 pm, then 11 pm, comes and boom, a metamorphosis of sound, lighting, service, and music redefine Flyjin as a club – and yes, it about to go down.

The underground club space gives for a mysterious vibe that makes you feel like you were invited to a secret party for the elite. You can go here with a group, a date or alone. It’s a good time either way and they are open from Wednesday-Saturday till 3 am.
The club is what we were interested in, and we loved it. The music is a good mix of hip-hop, with the occasional throwback banger. Drinks are expensive here as a lot of the liquor is imported from Japan, averaging $12-18 for a cocktail. Bottle service is available and is always recommended by Mr.Nokturnal.
Everyone dresses sharply in Montréal, and this place is no exception. Women dressed in their finest evening outfits like dresses, heels, jumpsuits and all that good stuff. Men dress in a trendy clubwear outfit, including button-ups and even some suits.
Overall, this is a nice spot to go to, and make sure you arrive before 11 pm if you don’t want to get caught outside in the long line on the weekends!
Maybe you’ll see us there on our next Canadian tour.
